There is something truly unique that can only be felt when stepping into the factory during the Rometti Award workshop: a contagious energy made up of hands experimenting, eyes observing, and ideas taking shape.
THE YOUNG
TALENTS OF THE
ROMETTI AWARD
2025

This year, more than ever, the week dedicated to the finalists of the Rometti Award 2025 was a vibrant blend of enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. From July 21st to 25th, six young talents selected from prestigious Italian and international academies and design institutes spent five days immersed in the heart of our factory in Umbertide. Andrea di Pietro (NID Perugia), Alix Bazin (ENSAD Paris), Mariana Gaspar Bernardino (ESAD Oporto), Vittorio Melchionna (ISIA Florence), Liz Wong (IED Milan) and Anastasia Ashikhmina (Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze) arrived with projects already rich in personality and transformed them into reality, testing themselves with the techniques that make Rometti ceramics so unique. The participants approached every stage – from wheel throwing to glazing, from hand decoration to firing – with boundless curiosity and a sincere desire to absorb every secret of the craft. Watching them experiment, share ideas, refine details, and marvel at the transformations of the material was a privilege for us. It was a true creative dialogue, where the century-old tradition of our factory met the freshness of a new generation. Now we look forward with great anticipation to October, when the jury will award the final prizes and select the projects that best interpret the Rometti style through their own vision. But beyond the results, this week reminded us why we believe so deeply in the Rometti Award: because seeing the eyes of those discovering the art of ceramics for the first time light up is the greatest confirmation that this tradition still has so much to share.
