– Constant research and tireless experimentation have characterized my work. I have never been interested in creating beautiful shapes as an end in itself. Creating has always meant inserting an original and unpredictable element, finding an unexpected solution, an unimaginable colour. – This is how Roberto Capucci describes himself, universally acclaimed as a Sculptor of Silk. The designer’s work is celebrated at the Milan Triennale with the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte – Metafore. Roberto Capucci: meraviglie della forma, from 17th November 2021 to 9th January 2022.

The exhibition, curated by Gian Luca Bauzano, in collaboration with the Roberto Capucci Foundation and Rometti, marks the seventieth anniversary of the first Roberto Capucci fashion show and the birth of Italian fashion itself, with the concept of Made in Italy conceived by Giorgini in 1951. The impossible shapes of the Maestro’s sculpture dresses are flanked by the incredible research and craftsmanship carried out with Rometti, with a collection of ceramic works of art that reinterpret his soul and aesthetics. The 20 colourful vases designed by Capucci with Jean-Christophe Clair, artistic director of Rometti, are the protagonists of this tribute to the legend of fashion. " Metafore.
