The new
collection with
Roberto
Capucci

-When Massimo and I entered his home for the first time, he had already drawn at least 100 vases inspired by his clothes for our collection together, and had arranged them along the entire sofa. We selected the best, and this is where one of our biggest challenges began. I reinterpreted the designer’s sketches wanting to make his dream come true by emphasizing the lively forms and giving them a sculptural identity. Together we translated the clothes into monumental architecture, chose the colours that most represented his story and gave life to the amazing pieces, says Jean-Christophe Clair, Artistic Director of Rometti while talking about the new and extraordinary collaboration with one of the most iconic stylists of all time: Roberto Capucci.

Cluster

The iconic Commutatore, on display at the exhibition, reveals an alternative way of experiencing urban space, looking at the world from an atypical perspective. Ugo La Pietra loves to explore reality by unhinging its values and approved spaces. Architect, designer, artist, director, editor and teacher he doesn’t like the division between disciplines but appreciates craftsmanship and local traditions and particularly identifies ceramic as a ductile and stimulating material, that blends art and technique. Above all, he links creation to a specific place, where you “ look for the form that comes from our experiences instead of from imposed patterns”.

A journey
into matter
with Fresh

A union thanks to the extraordinary treasures that are found where Rometti has its foundations. The collaboration with Fresh, arose spontaneously and naturally. The material unites, binds, and transforms itself into different beauty tools, sharing the same DNA; the clay becomes an excellent cosmetic product for Fresh, and a decorative piece of art for Rometti.

The story with
Roche-Bobois

The collaboration with Roche-Bobois was born in 2012, with the presentation of the Waterline and Radian coffee tables by Cédric Ragot, a success that is still one of the company’s best-sellers today. The following year, for the fifteenth anniversary of the death of Jean Cocteau, Rometti produced a set of plates and vases using his iconic illustrative technique. Given the extraordinary success, the collaboration was consolidated further in 2016 with the collection by Kenzo Takada for Roche-Bobois.
