METAFORE Roberto Capucci Triennale Milano
– Constant research and tireless experimentation have characterized my work. I have never been interested in creating beautiful shapes as an end in itself. Creating has always meant inserting an original and unpredictable element, finding an unexpected solution, an unimaginable colour. – This is how Roberto Capucci describes himself, universally acclaimed as a Sculptor of Silk. The designer’s work is celebrated at the Milan Triennale with the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte – Metafore. Roberto Capucci: meraviglie della forma, from 17th November 2021 to 9th January 2022.
The new collection with Roberto Capucci
-When Massimo and I entered his home for the first time, he had already drawn at least 100 vases inspired by his clothes for our collection together, and had arranged them along the entire sofa. We selected the best, and this is where one of our biggest challenges began. I reinterpreted the designer’s sketches wanting to make his dream come true by emphasizing the lively forms and giving them a sculptural identity. Together we translated the clothes into monumental architecture, chose the colours that most represented his story and gave life to the amazing pieces, says Jean-Christophe Clair, Artistic Director of Rometti while talking about the new and extraordinary collaboration with one of the most iconic stylists of all time: Roberto Capucci.

FITTILE curated by Ugo La Pietra TRIENNALE MILANO
From 4th September to 31st October, the Quadreria space becomes the theatre for Fittile, a journey into ceramics curated by the artist, architect and designer Ugo La Pietra. The iconic figure of Italian applied arts wanted the monumental presence of Rometti among the works on display: two Totems, in a special terracotta finish, act as supporting columns at the entrance to the show. Another exclusive space was given to the last great work of Jean-Christophe Clair, Artistic Director of Rometti: Arythmie has an enveloping and incessant Baroque air. The vase tells of an energy that dances and evolves, an entrelac of music and ceramics that blends the multifaceted artistic paths of its author.

Ugo La Pietra 2020 at Contemporary Cluster
The iconic Commutatore, on display at the exhibition, reveals an alternative way of experiencing urban space, looking at the world from an atypical perspective. Ugo La Pietra loves to explore reality by unhinging its values and approved spaces. Architect, designer, artist, director, editor and teacher he doesn’t like the division between disciplines but appreciates craftsmanship and local traditions and particularly identifies ceramic as a ductile and stimulating material, that blends art and technique. Above all, he links creation to a specific place, where you “ look for the form that comes from our experiences instead of from imposed patterns”.
In the heart of Chantal Thomass
2020 brings a new collection by Chantal Thomass for Rometti, presented during the Parisian Design Week, in the splendid home of the French stylist and designer. One of the most acclaimed events by the Parisian press, who loved the renewed collaboration and the fusion of the designer’s femininity and Rometti’s know-how.
